Adelphi Suites Hotel Bangkok Thailand

When it comes to Bangkok hotels there are likely over 1000 to choose from, but Golf and I have found our favorite to be The Adelphi Suites Hotel on Soi 8 Sukhumvit. Believe me when I say we’ve tried dozens of hotels in Bangkok, but considering the price and location I don’t think you’ll find a better, cleaner, more relaxed and convenient place to stay. We absolutely loved our stay at the Adelphi Suites and I want to recommend it to all of the readers of Thailand Musings as the place to stay next time you’re in Bangkok.

It has everything you need and is literally a stone’s throw from the BTS and Sukhumvit. This by itself makes it a great deal for the price, but it doesn’t stop there. The amenities of the hotel, the décor and the service level of the staff are top notch and made us feel so comfortable and at home during our stay.

I know everyone has different requirements for a great hotel, but if you want a place that’s close to everything in the heart of Bangkok that’s clean and has great service all for under US$100 then I don’t think you’ll find anything better than the Adelphi Suites hotel in Soi 8 Sukhumvit.

General Overview

Adelphi Suites is more than just a hotel, it is a serviced apartment and as such provides you with more room that a typical hotel as well as such amenities as an in room kitchenette, washers and dryers and a service level that makes you feel relaxed and at home. It is a perfect choice for both short term and long term stays in the City of Angels.

Because the Adelphi is somewhat smaller than the chain hotels, with 93 rooms, studios and suites, the service level and overall feeling is more like a boutique hotel or a home away from home than a typical hotel experience. You’ll love the contemporary style of the rooms, the free high speed wi-fi internet and the fantastic location just a couple minutes from Sukhumvit and the Nana BTS station. Additionally, the staff at the Adelphi Suites will pamper you with the traditional Thai hospitality and warmth. You’ll feel more like a guest in their home than a guest in a hotel.

Rooms

Studio – You’ll find that the studio rooms are quite spacious and comfortable for 1 or 2 people. They are 36 square meters and come furnished with either twin or king beds in relaxing earthy tones. Each room comes with a fully equipped kitchenette, sofa and work table as well as very roomy cabinets and dressers. One feature both Golf and I loved was the rain shower in the bathroom, which was an awesome way to clean up and cool off after a long day (or night) out and about. You also get high speed wi-fi internet, a 32” flat screen TV with satellite channels and a DVD/Audio system. It’s everything you need for a long or short stay in Bangkok.

Deluxe One Bedroom – The deluxe one bedroom includes all the amenities of the studio, but gives you more space and a separate bedroom and living area. Quite large at 48 square meters, the Deluxe One Bedroom Suite also includes floor to ceiling windows with nice views of the city as well as a second TV and DVD player in the bedroom area. One final touch is the included washer and dryer, a huge benefit for those planning on being in Bangkok for an extended period of time.

Adelphi Executive Adelphi Work Area

Executive One Bedroom – These are the prime rooms with a huge 54 square meters of space and enough room to sleep 4 in comfort. They also include all the same amenities as the deluxe one bedroom and provide a great escape from the outside world. Enjoy the spaciousness and luxury appointments for just a fraction of what many other Bangkok hotels charge.

Dining

The hotel offers just one restaurant, The Monsoon Café, but that doesn’t mean you’ll suffer for food choices. The Monsoon serves up both international and local cuisine and will be your restaurant for the included breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast is decent and filling, about what you would expect from a Bangkok hotel with eggs and bacon, cold cereals, fresh fruit, usually a Thai rice and noodle dish and coffee/tea/fresh juices. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant are quite good as well and they have both indoor seating and an outdoor al fresco seating area where you can enjoy your food and watch the passersby. Also included in the Monsoon Café is a small bar with a decent selection of wines and liquors. Open: 6.30am to 01.00am

Of course if you choose not to eat at the hotel you’ll find a huge variety of restaurants within walking distance of the Adelphi Suites. Nearby restaurants include those specializing in Thai, Indian, International, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese dishes so you’ll never run out of dining options.

Recreation

The hotel offers both a fitness center and saltwater pool on the 16th floor roof terrace. And there is a cocktail area in the Monsoon Café and restaurant where you can relax and quench your thirst after a hot day in Bangkok.

Of course if you head outside the hotel the recreation options are endless. Q-Bar, Bed Supperclub, Twisted Republic Nightclub and Spicy Disco are all just minutes from Adelphi Suites.

If you’re looking to travel farther afield, the BTS station is a 2 minute walk from the hotel giving you easy access to everything Bangkok has to offer, including excellent shopping at MBK, Siam Paragon, Siam Centre, Central World, Erawan Center, Gaysorn Plaza and Central Chitlom.
